save reports to own PC
EnCompass Tip of the Week - Saving reports to your own hard drive
There are many different Operating System set ups on the fieldsmen computers. The following describes saving an on-line PDF using Internet Explorer in a Windows XP environment. If you hit a problem call the GrowHow Advice Centre.
With a report on screen in preview, choose "File" from the menu bar and select "Save a Copy"
From here open the drop down drive list and select "(C:) C$ on 'Client'" to access the hard drive on your own computer. Do not select "Desktop", that is on our servers and not on your PC.
If "(C:) C$ on 'Client'" does not appear on the folder list or you receive an "access denied" message, please call the GrowHow Advice Centre to sort this one.

The folder list may not seem familiar, choose "Documents & Settings" to open a list of user names, select your name and you should have a list of familiar folders.
Select or create the folder that you wish to store the file in and save. Remember to change the document name to one you will recognise later.
You can now retrieve the file for viewing, email or printing from your own hard drive.
Note for network users. Your C:/ drive may not be the one that your IT department back up or recognise as your main work area. Consult with your IT dept for file and back-up guidelines and/or instructions for transferring the files to your work area.
