Field selection for soil sampling
With the crops cleared, decisions on what fields need to be soil sampled are being taken. This note will show you how to look up a list with the fields that have no real analysis (default) and view the oldest soil test dates at the top of the list. Then you may want a copy to take to your farmer for discussion.
To view the out-of-date results
Open the farmer's field list in EnCompass, go to the "System View" and choose "Soil Test Requirement".
This list has the two default fields at the top, those fields and any soil tests taken before Oct 2005 will be highlighted in "Brown".
Export to Excel
To prepare the list for printing it is quickest to export it as a spreadsheet.
Aside - the field summary report would revert to an alphabetical list. Now, you could get clever at this point and filter the list down to the fields to be soil sampled, but let's leave that for another day.
With the cursor anywhere on the field list, right click to open the list, go to commands and select "Export to Excel".
The resulting spreadsheet will lose the colours but the order remains the same.
