Where is GrowHow in relation to REACH?
Information to our customers, suppliers and business partners
Status:
The New European Legislation: REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) has entered into force on the 1st of June 2007.
Besides the increased testing of chemicals there will also be an increased demand in the European market for exchange of information between suppliers, customers, producers, importers and Competent Authorities.
What is GrowHow doing?
GrowHow is preparing for this new Regulation which will improve the protection of human health and the environment.
We are following up the development and preparing our procedures and systems to be compliant with the Regulation and participating in the Reach Task Forces of Trade Associations important contributions to ensure compliance with the Regulation.
What is the status in GrowHow?
We have established an inventory of all our products and suppliers and have also started to identify the different uses which our products have. When the Guidance for Chemical Safety Assessments is finalised, we will contact our customers to obtain information about the uses and exposure of our products.
GrowHow is following the time schedule recommended by CEFIC, and an internal schedule and working organisation with senior management support has been established to take care of the implementation of REACH.
Will GrowHow register the products?
We have identified all our products and substances which are manufactured on our sites and the pre-registration of these is now complete.
Information on uses and exposure scenarios
For a substance that is classified (or a product containing a classified substance) and produced in more than 10t/year, a Chemical Safety Assessment is to be made. We will be contacting our customers in due time to get the information we require in order to make the exposure scenarios. We will also participate in the activities within Trade Associations to perform this task in a smooth and efficient way.
