A True Granular product that provides Potassium and Sulphur when Phosphate is not required. Reflects the growing demand for zero Phosphate fertiliser

Environmental concerns, traditionally centred on Nitrates, now extend to Phosphate loss and its affect on water quality.

A significant proportion of UK land has high levels of Phosphate. Applications of Phosphate fertilisers during the summer months do not give a crop response, especially in dry conditions.

The need for Potassium, whilst variable, is increasing as soil levels are gradually in overall decline.

Sulphur is also now recognised as a major limiting factor in UK agricultural production.

Traditional grades of this type have contained relatively high levels of Potassium which can exceed requirements in situations of high soil K indices and on grassland where higher volumes of organic manures are applied. NK Sulphur represents another option for Potassium and Sulphur applications.

Price increases in Phosphates, whether feed or fertiliser have been unprecedented. This, together with environmental concerns, means farmers must soil sample regularly so soil nutrient supply can be incorporated within a fertiliser plan.

Areas of Suitability:

Grassland

Use as a general grassland fertiliser on soils with high Phosphate index. Grazing, apply 200-250kg/ha NK Sulphur on a monthly basis. Silage, where organic manures are applied up to NVZ limits, replace usual NK product with 300-400 kg/ha NK Sulphur.

Arable  

Use NK Sulphur in situations involving high soil P levels and generally higher K levels, or where sewage sludge has been spread. On winter cereals use appropriate application splits and quantities.
